UNIFORM
Kings Norton Girls’ School is proud of its traditions and specifies the following school uniforms. All students of compulsory school age are expected to comply with the uniform required, apart from exceptional circumstances where the Headteacher has given prior approval.
Years 7, 8, 9 and 10
- Navy skirt with a back vent OR navy skirt with all round pleats, both of an appropriate length (on or just above the knee).
- Short of long sleeved revere collared blouse in light blue.
- Navy blue tailored trousers.
- V-necked navy blue sweatshirt with KNGS logo.
- Navy or white socks, black or neutral plain tights (no footless tights) and low heeled dark coloured shoes (no trainers or canvas shoes).
NB skirts and trousers must not be made of lycra and closely fitted.
Year 11 Uniform:
- Black skirt or trousers as above
- White polo shirt
- Black or jade round necked sweatshirt with the y11 logo.
P.E. Kit Uniform
- Pale blue polo shirt
- Trainers
- Navy blue football socks
- White sports socks
- Football boots
Hair colour should be of a natural colour and the style must be appropriate for school. Hair accessories should be discreet and navy blue or black in colour. Headscarves must be blue, black or white only.
Jewellery should consist of no more than 1 small ring, 1 pair of earrings (small studs only) and devotional necklaces which should be worn discreetly.
Makeup must be discreet and nail varnish and acrylic nails are not allowed. Girls will be asked to remove unnecessary makeup and will be provided with face wipes for this purpose.
No piercings such as nose, lips, tongue are allowed.
Inappropriate jewellery will be confiscated (for collection by the parents from the school office).
Failure to wear the correct uniform will lead to students being asked to change into uniform provided by school or if necessary they will be sent home to change.
