Primary Transition

Open Mornings

Year 4 and 5 prospective parents and students are welcome to visit us for our open mornings in June to have a look around and get a flavour of the learning experience at Kings Norton Girls’ School.

Open Evening

Open evening takes place in September and is the perfect opportunity to explore our school and talk to staff and students.

Primary Visits

Having accepted a place with us, most Year 6 students will be visited at their primary school by their Head of House or another member of our support staff. This gives students a person/face/name to remember, this is an opportunity for students to ask any questions and for staff to begin to get to know your child.

Induction Day

Year 6 students spend a whole day at Kings Norton Girls’ School in July before their September start. This is an opportunity to meet other students in the year group, begin to find their way around and experience a snippet of life at their soon-to-be school. Your child will meet their form tutor and begin to get to know other members of their form, experience a selection of different lessons and become part of the school community.

Induction Evening

All future parents and carers come in with their child on the evening of Induction Day to meet their child’s tutor and other key staff. Information about the school, expectations, policies and procedures will be given out and there is also a chance for us to receive information from parents.

Pen Pal Day

Once students have visited us on Induction Day they spend one other day in school with a current Year 7 student, attending form time and taking part in their lessons. All our new students have a pen pal who invites them into school in July and helps them to get to know us better and feel a part of our community. Students find that this day in particular prepares them well for the September start. Remaining questions are answered and students finish the day excited to be returning in September.
