Year 4 and 5 prospective parents and students are welcome to visit us for our open mornings in June, to have a look around and get a flavour of the learning experience at Kings Norton Girls’ School.
Having accepted a place with us, Year 6 students are likely to be visited at their primary school by their future Raising Achievement Leader (RAL) or another member of our support staff. This is to give them a single person/face/name to remember and is an opportunity to explain the Induction Day, which takes place during July, and put their nerves to rest, answering any questions they might have before coming to big school!
Pen pal day
All our new girls have a pen pal who invites them into school in the summer term and helps them to get to know us better and feel a part of our community.
All future parents and carers come in with their daughters to meet the staff at the school to initiate our Home School Partnership. Information about the school, expectations, policies and procedures will be given out and there is also a chance for us to receive information from parents.
Year 6 students spend a whole day at the start of the autumn term finding their way around and experiencing a snippet of life at their soon-to-be school. The girls start by meeting their form tutors and getting to know other members of their form. They then spend the day experiencing a selection of different lessons with a focus on team working and becoming part of the school community.
