Business & Enterprise Community Challenge

Year 12 Fundraise for St. Mary’s Hospice

Year 12 Business Studies students have been challenged by the staff at St Mary’s Hospice to raise money.

The students have split in to two business teams and are planning and  coordinating a range of activities to raise as much money as possible. The two business teams are called ‘Team Ambition’ and ‘Team Unlimited’. The students in each team have allocated job roles based on their skills and experiences. Each team had to present their fundraising ideas to a panel of four business judges who gave them feedback and then decided whether they would invest in their projects.

The judges were Oliver Hiscoe and Pamela Hodgetts from St Mary’s Hospice, Simon Greenfield, Director of Colourcubed and Tony Hall, Branch Manager, Handelsbanken.

Both teams were successful with their proposals and received the maximum amount of £100 each. ‘Team Ambition’ has used this funding to purchase doughnuts and have been busy selling them in school. The profit raised will go towards hosting a community day in January with live music. ‘Team Unlimited’ are organising a Year 7 and 8 school disco with the proceeds going towards the planning and organising of a community fun day in February. Both teams are determined to be successful and raise as much money possible for St Mary’s.
