Hour of Code

Monday 4th December 2017, KNGS participated in one of the flagship events as part of Computer Science Education Week. Hour of Code is a worldwide event aimed at getting children and adults alike coding for fun. Our Computer Science subject ambassadors led the event and were on hand to provide support to students and staff who all came to have a go at coding, including Minecraft, Star Wars and other exciting scenarios; some even tried their hand at creating music using code.
All students got a certificate to celebrate their participation in the event and they were given some home learning to carry out which aimed to get them teaching a parent/grandparent/neighbour to code and spread the excitement of getting a computer to do something cool for the first time.
If you are interested in trying out some coding either for yourself or with your daughter, you can visit the hour of code website all year round – check out https://hourofcode.com/uk/learn for more information.
