IGD Workshop

On Thursday 9th February there was an IGD workshop for Year 12, from 1.30-3.30pm in the Learning Hub.

The workshop, run by Future First and IGD (Institute of Grocery Distribution) use professionals from across the food and grocery industry to help inspire and educate students nationwide, so they understand how to translate their  education into skills for work, whilst learning about the diverse range of careers within the industry.

The Year 12 workshop looked as “What are my skills and how can I sell them?” with the objective of developing students’ written communication skills, by looking at best practice in CVs and covering letters, and giving students the opportunity to write their own. Students also learned about the range of roles available in the food and consumer goods industry, and the routes into these roles.
