In June, a number of our staff will be climbing the three highest mountains in the UK over a 24 hour period in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The National Three Peaks challenge entails climbing the three highest peaks in the UK in a 24 hour period, completing the ascent and descent of each mountain and driving in between the locations of each mountain in this period of time. Participants have little time for rest and sleep.
The team will begin the challenge at Ben Nevis on 29 June, will then climb Scafell Pike and finally Snowdon, completing the challenge on Saturday 30 June. The total combined height is 3,408 meters (11181 feet).
While they are busy training, you can support the team’s effort through donations to our chosen charity. KNGS has chosen to support Macmillan as many of us have been either directly or indirectly affected by cancer. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.
We are grateful for all donations – big and small – and we will update you on the team’s progress via the school newsletter and website and wish them the best of luck with their training and preperation!
