Tribute to Kevin Simms – Site Manager

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Kevin Simms who died on the 25^th October 2021. Kevin was the school’s Site Manager of over 20 years who had been unwell however his death was sudden and unexpected.

Mr Simms was a very skilled Site Manager and kept the school running safely and effectively. He could turn his hand to grounds maintenance and anything that needed fixing, repairing, or improving around the school premises. Mr Simms was also a dedicated and talented gardener and turned the house garden into a splash of colour nearly all year round. He cared greatly for the school because of the students that attended and valued their education and wellbeing. Kevin will be remembered as an incredibly kind and caring man, who behind the scenes acted to make the lives of other better. He had a dry sense of humour tinged with a little bit of grumpiness which we all loved!

Staff are overwhelmed by his loss and will miss Mr Simms very much. He was a friend to many staff as well as a valued colleague.
