School Closed Today – Lessons via Remote Learning
Dear Parents
We have assessed the school site and local roads and have decided that it is unsafe for staff and students to be on site and travel to school this morning, we will therefore revert to remote learning.
Remote learning will be available for lessons 2, 3, 4, 5 and will be sent via email by the teacher and saved in P:\Remote Learning 2022-23, students will be expected to complete this work.
Teachers of students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 may consider teaching their lessons via teams, this is at the teachers’ discretion and will depend on the suitability of work to be covered and access to teams by students. This information will be communicated by email by the teacher if they do decide to move to teams.
Thank you all for your support today.
Yours sincerely
Nicola Raggett – Headteacher

Kings Norton Sixth Form Celebrates Best Ever A Level Results!
Congratulations to Kings Norton Sixth Form students, and the teachers and support staff who worked with them, in achieving an exceptional set of A Level results.
Kings Norton Sixth Form are celebrating their best ever A Level results whilst bucking the national trend, with an incredible 49.4% of grades at grade A* or A, 75.3% at grade A*-B and an average grade of B+. These outstanding results reflect the immense hard work undertaken by students and staff over the last two years at a time when the varying impact of the pandemic has made studying for A Level’s even harder.
The staff and Governors are very proud of the achievements of the class of 2022 and are excited about the world of opportunities that now lies ahead for them. In September we will have students taking up places at the country’s very best universities, including Oxbridge and the Russell Group, and embarking upon high quality apprenticeships.
Nicola Raggett, the school’s Headteacher said: “Congratulations to all our students on their excellent examination results, we are delighted and very proud of their achievements. These outstanding results are due to the sheer hard work and determination of students and staff in what has been a very difficult couple of years, alongside exceptional relationships and support which lies at the heart of our very successful Sixth Form. I wish all students continued success and happiness for their futures as they continue to flourish. Well done everybody.”
And how do our students feel?
“I’m absolutely over the moon with my results and feel so incredibly grateful for the support that Kings Norton Girls’ School & Sixth Form provided me throughout my time here.
I’m so excited to begin this next chapter and wish everyone else good luck for the future.” Mae

The 2 years here have taught me so much about the importance of hard work and where it can get you. Thank you KNGS!” Dillan
“I am thrilled with the set of results I have achieved – the hard work paid off! Thank you so much to all of my teachers who were so supportive throughout my journey at KNGS. I wouldn’t have achieved this set of results without them.” Lucy

Kings Norton Sixth Form Celebrates Outstanding A Level Results
Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth form is delighted to congratulate our Sixth Form students on their outstanding achievements in their A Levels this summer.
We are immensely proud of all the hard work and achievements of our students. Despite such a difficult and disrupted year our students have continued to flourish. Our teachers and Sixth Form team have worked tirelessly with students to ensure they are all able to progress onto higher education, apprenticeships and training, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
And how do our students feel?
“From someone who didn’t speak English at all in Year 7, Kings Norton Girls’ School & Sixth Form has been an amazing support system. A massive thank you to everyone who has made my journey an amazing one!” Natasha

Children In Need Event – Friday 13th November
This year we will be hosting a scaled down and COVID friendly Children In Need event on Friday 13th November; we are unable to host our usually very popular bake sale and dance competitions. However in true KNGS style we will still be supporting a truly amazing charity through a “Come as Yourself day”.
This year Children in Need are supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people across the UK through the current pandemic. They are encouraging young people to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and to express their identity on Friday 13th November by coming to school in their own clothes.
As we are unable to take physical money donations this year we are encouraging students/parents and family members to head to our Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kngs-cin2020 to submit a donation. We fully appreciate circumstances are challenging right now; but even the smallest of donations can help to make a difference.
We are looking forward to seeing our KNGS Community in their own clothes on Friday 13th November.
