Summer 2021 Exams
Following the cancellation of external examinations this Summer, the Government have confirmed that students will receive grades awarded and determined by teachers, with students only assessed on what they have been taught.
Fairness and flexibility are at the heart of the Government’s plans to ensure young people get to their next stage of education or training.
Teachers will be able to draw on a range of evidence when determining grades, including the optional use of questions provided by exam boards, as well as mock exams, coursework, or other work completed as part of a student’s course, such as essays or in-class tests. No algorithm will be used.
Schools, colleges and other educational settings will conduct multiple checks – such as checking consistency of judgements across teachers and that the correct processes were followed – to ensure as much fairness as possible.
At the same time, exam boards will conduct their own checks, through a combination of random sampling and more targeted scrutiny where they identify cause for concern.
Results days will be Tuesday 10th August 2021 for A Levels and Thursday 12th August for GCSE’s.
Any further updates will be communicated in due course.

Information for Parents and Students
For any examination queries please contact the Exams Officer (Chloe Welch) at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0121 675 1305.
If a student is unwell and cannot sit an examination or is running late, the examination officer and/or school reception need to be informed before 8:15am.
It is good practice to have a full set of equipment for all of your exams, this includes: black pen, pencil, ruler, compass, sharpener, eraser, protractor and calculator all in a clear pencil case or plastic bag. Watches are permitted (with the exception of smart watches) during examinations, but must be placed on the examination desk.
We wish all students sitting exams the very best of luck.
